Romeo and Juliet suffer a tragic end as a result of forbidden love. Some people feel that parents should not have a say in who their children date or marry. Do you agree or disagree? Write a multiparagraph essay convincing others of your position.

I agree with a limit that parents should have a say in who you should and who you shouldn't date. As you get older you become more responsible for your choices and become more independent. Therefore you should be able to choose who you should and shouldn't date. So if a mistake is made the blame is on you because you made the choice but if you fall in love then you know for sure that that is the person you love because you chose them not your parents and you know how you really feel about that person.
However if your parents chose for you it’s not guaranteed that you will fall in love anytime soon or at all. But then again there is a chance you will fall in love with whoever your parents chose for you. Some people think that having your parents choose for you is easier which is correct but having to fall in love with that person is not. Your parents know you best and so do you. But what if you don’t want someone the same as you, someone who likes the same things as you.
I believe that parents should give their opinion about the person that you are dating but not try to interfere without a reasonable cause. Although I do say that if they see the relationship isn’t healthy for you that they do intervene and help you. I understand that parents want the best for their children and not see them hurt or even put in harms way. But were humans we can’t learn our mistakes if we don’t make some first, we can’t know what we want unless we look. So like I said before I agree with a limit that parents should have a say
