An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind
It is correctly said that 'an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind'.It generally happens in today's generation. If someone critisizes other, other never want to lose a chance to critisize him.But this thought never settles any dispute. If this will never stop, then one time will come that the whole world would be fighting with each other. For example,in the history, when India was rulled by the kings, all the kings of different kingdoms were fighting with each other for different reasons. The britishers took advantage of this condition. As a result, entire India was rilled by them for 200years.So, one should be helpful to others as well as affectionate. If we want to live in peace,we have to understand each other.
If people will become friendly, our country or the whole world would surely develop.
Satyagraha is peaceful. If words fail to convince the adversary perhaps purity, humility, and honesty will. The opponent must be “weaned from error by patience and sympathy,” weaned, not crushed; converted, not annihilated.
Satyagraha is the exact opposite of the policy of an-eye-for-an-eye-for-an-eye-for-an-eye which ends in making everybody blind.Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. The old law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding; it seeks to annihilate rather than to convert.
You cannot inject new ideas into a man’s head by chopping it off; neither will you infuse a new spirit into his heart by piercing it with a dagger.
