The Secret Chest

The bright rays of the sun shone onto my face as my hands rubbed against my eyes. I gazed out of the window I could hear the hustle and bustle of the city below on a busy Monday morning. I zipped to the kitchen and grabbed a cereal box and a bowl. I poured out the cereal, out came tumbling a small, red envelope. I starred at it with curiosity as the words ‘Open Me Now!' was stamped on it in bold letters.

As I slowly and anxiously flip open the envelope, I found a piece of paper that had a list of instructions that I had to carry out before night fall. Reading through the instructions they seemed to be very odd, as each instruction contained a riddle. My curiosity got the better of me as I decided to proceed with those instructions. Besides, there might even be something for me in the end.

As I looked at the list the first instruction stated ‘Make your way to Central Park and bring a shovel with you.' I stood there and wondered what was the purpose of the shovel. I grabbed what I needed, rushed down and hailed a cab and made my way to Central Park.

I arrived at Central Park, as I looked back at the instructions ‘ X marked the spot and it was under three layers of black and white' was my second instruction. I was puzzled, as I looked scanned surrounding, I spotted a playground which had three layers of black and white with a sandbox under it, where there were scattered ‘Tic Tac Toe' blocks on it. I ran towards the playground and started to dig. Suddenly I hit something hard with my shovel, it was a small rusty old chest. As I got onto my knees and pull up the chest. The chest was locked and needed a key to open it. I continued and looked at my next instruction.

‘ The key lies at the heart of Central Park, Beware you may get WET' was written in bold letters. I then went back to the playground and climbed up to the very top level to have a bird's eye view of the place. It was then I spotted a fountain
