Two-career families versus One-career families

Quality time spent with family has become the key in two career families vs one career families. Today many working parents attempt to make time in their busy schedules to reserve time for their children. Money, time, and attention to loved ones are the major factors when choosing a one-career or two-career household. Although they bear some superficial similarities, the differences between two-career families and one-career families are clear.

One of the main and most evident differences between two-career families and one-career families is the focus on the responsibilities and roles of parents. A one-career family is more of the traditional setup, where the father is the breadwinner for the family. The father also has a strong influence on his family. In one-career families men generally handle making decisions for the family, meanwhile the woman handles the responsibility of taking care of the home, caring and raising the children. Also managing cooking, household chores, and taking care of everyday errands. In one-career families men put a lot of heart and time into their own careers, whereas, family time is put on the back burner. A one-career family offers less money in the pocket but more time with family and more attention to the people that matter most. This is a very ideal option for lots of people. With their only being one provider for the family the other spouse or parent will have an excessive amount of time. That parent will always be able to support the child any time help is needed. While children are gone all the cooking and cleaning can be done without any interruptions so when both parent are at home that time can be focused on family time.

Two-career families have become more popular. Two-career families are much more occurring in today’s society. Not only are men in the workforce but women are also. Women have also started to become the breadwinners for families. Two career families have been the product of evolution, the development of women rights in a time of education and status in society. In a two-career family set up, both the husband and wife are working. Both the husband and wife are also pursuing their own different careers.
