Alexander the Great essay

Alexander was able to be one of the greatest military commanders ever to lead a huge army into battle successfully and he deserves his title of Alexander the Great. Alexander was able to conquer and unify many square miles and empires. He used advanced military techniques and skills that helped him win many battles against other empires. He also left a huge stamp on the world after his tragic death. All of these examples prove that Alexander does deserve the title of Alexander the Great.

During Alexander’s time of rule he was able to conquer and unify many different empires all over Afro-Eurasia. Alexander conquered around two million square miles over three continents. The continents where Africa, Asia and Europe. These continents all together create Afro-eurasia. While he was passing through town he had conquered previously, he would leave some of his men in the small towns to start new lives and have families. Since he was conquering many places near each other, many new trade routes emerged. This created many new sources of trade and interactions with other cultures and empire around his conquered areas. Alexander is not just known for conquering many place he is also known for using many unique military tactics during war.

Alexander used many different military technique and tactics in battles. He used techniques like having war chariots, spears, and huge crossbows. War chariots were used to create fast moving ways of attack. Spears were used to create space between the armies and their enemies, holding spears in front of themselves would make it so the enemies couldn't get that close to them. One of Alexander main ways of attack was a huge crossbow, what his men would do is load an arrow and it would pull back the arrow with a huge amount of force and when it would shoot into the air it could pierce anyone’s armor. Using phalanx was another way of attacking other armies.
