Cooking vs. Baking
Cooking and baking, while both dealing with food, are quite different in preparation and
final outcome. When you are cooking the recipe is more of a roadmap or suggestion,
while a recipe for baking must have specific measurements of each ingredient in order
for the product to turn into a successful dish. Cooking has many different methods such
as frying, roasting, steaming or sautéing, but baking is mainly just in the oven. Most
importantly cooking is mostly savory and baking is mainly sweet. (Cooking also has
multiple elements in order to make the dish complete, such as protein, starch and a
vegetable) while baking can work with just one element like a cookie. While cooking and
baking make a meal complete, they could not be more different.
