Before working on the social action plan, I wasn’t very associated with my group however, after working through this assignment and having regular meetings, the group functioned very well and work was dispersed evenly. I remained reasonably satisfied with the way the group operated, as no one was left with a heavy workload, nor was anyone left out. This allowed each member to work through there sections without stress. I enjoyed the way the workload was handled.
The challenges that faced our group were meeting times, as certain members were not available during certain time periods due to prior working commitments. These problems were fixed, with evening meetings to include all members, with other meetings during the day to help coordinate our social action plan. In the beginning my group had trouble deciding on what drug to use, and the name of our Campaign. I found this immature, as some members were not taking it seriously. However it was very brief, with the problem quickly being decided on a much more mature option and allowing our work to begin process.
Before doing this assignment I didn’t completely understand the effect of the drug MDMA. My perception was quickly shifted after discovering the short-term and long-term effects. This gave me a great insight to understand the risks the drug exposes to people and the harmful addiction, which heavily effects and damages the lives of people and their family and friends. This knowledge really broadened by learning and allowed me to write in more depth on the topic.
Personally I believe my work was highly satisfactory, planned and wasn’t rushed. I had worried that my group wouldn’t be able to meet, and that my work would be weighed down, and be very rushed (last minute work).
