Program Planning and Evaluation

Peace Domestic Violence Agency is a human service organization that prides itself in helping those who have been victims of domestic violence. Their mission is to empower those who use their services by promoting healing from using their services.  Their goal is to reduce domestic violence and sexual assault by being advocates for victims and empowering people in the community by educating them. Domestic abuse is becoming a growing problem, and the agencies such as Peace allow people a safe way to get out. Having programs like this can save people’s lives but there is a lot of program planning that goes into an agency such as peace, to ensure they are offering as much help as they can.

Program planning is defined as a multi-step, well thought out process used to help create a potential human services program. Program planning begins with the definition of the problem, and the objectives to address the problem. Program planning also starts the beginning of the evaluation plan. The steps that are used in program planning can vary depending on the program that is being developed. Program evaluation is important for the gathering of information, which can determine what changes need to be done to improve the program.

Peace domestic violence agency is a great example of program planning and evaluation. They clearly identified the problem that needs to be addressed. The Peace agency also has a clear objective list that states how the agency plans on addressing the problem. The agency also keeps records that help to evaluate the output of their services on the community. The agency has been given money through grants which is a good example of how well their program is going because if there wasn’t success they wouldn’t be able to keep their funding. The program planning that has gone into this agency included making thoughtful decisions and being organized within the agency. They steps include identifying the primary problems.  They developed the program process outcomes and objectives.  Then they selected ways that they can address the problem at hand.
