Summary
Training within organizations are now changing into a vital source that the company needs to survive. This is due to the amount workers that are in the company. Another factor is the level of the employees. For example, there could be a new employee who has no work experience and needs the training to get in the workforce. On the other hand there the executive who just transferred from another company to yours, they have all the tools but they don’t know how to use them in your company so you have to train him on your work ethics and how things are done. The evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs can be difficult but there is a plan on how to change that. One step is to evaluate the employee after they received their training and in between their training to know how much information they are actually picking up. “We can no longer count on learning one job and keeping it until retirement. Our careers require lifelong learning, which means that training has become even more vital today than it was for previous generations.” (Schultz, 2006) The times are changing on how training is dealt within the companies. Since this new change is taking place there are more people who are looking for companies that offer the increased training process to gain experience within the company to advance in the company or to move up to another company. So to cut the training department is giving the upper hand to our competitors for the bids of the employees who work hard.
It is true when they say that time is money because it does take money to have the time to train the employees. Although the invest may be great the outcome of the training is even greater. The employees who go through the training programs will gain new knowledge every time and their skills will improve which would giver greater production and increase the finances in the company with getting work done on time and accurately. There won’t be more time wasted in trying to re-due the work that may be not done properly. If there is no training plan then more time will be wasted in trying to teach a new employee to replace the old one who couldn’t do the job in the first place due to lack of training.
When you have well trained employees the work and productivity goes up. This gives you more profits in getting things done and fast. Also having a great training plan you can evaluate the employees better to catch the problems and help the employee to fix them before the problem gets too big. The attractiveness of having successful hard working employees also catches the eyes of prestige investors. They would take the chance in investing in the company since they would feel that the employees are well trained and know what they are doing. Your employees are the backbones to your business so without them you can’t hold yourself up high.
