It Takes Hard Work and Patience
“Present yourself well, have tough skin and roll with the punches!” Words of a fighter, a person who never gave up on trying to get where he is today. When Adrian Whitsett spoke those words, from that point on everyday I wanted to start working even harder on education and life. Starting as an intern at KETV and now working night shifts, from the outside looking in, it looks as if Adrian has lived the easiest life yet. Good looks, smooth talker, may seem easy to accomplish but after listening to his speech anything in this life is possible.
Hands behind the back, tight medal around the wrist was the last thing Adrian had on his mind. It took me back to where my mother was taken away from me and I was stuck in the mind of feeling discomfort, wanting to give up on education, life, and family. My mother looked back at me and said, “Don’t give up on anything honey, not even mommy.” So, I couldn’t stop there. Adrian didn’t.
Adrian always thought of being in the military but with the arrest on his record he thought it wouldn’t be possible. Well, he got accepted! With a year and a half of hard work overseas, he came back, finished school and got a job.
“No dream comes true unless you wake up and go to work,” said Adrian.
It reminded me of just not thinking of what people thought of me. Going to school everyday and doing my work was a priority and a job, something I could never give up on. I have dreams of becoming anything in the Journalism and Advertising/Public Relations field. Adrian had the dream of always knowing what was going on around him before anyone else. He still has the dream of working in California. I enjoy acknowledging the hard work of a celebrity and appreciating what they do for their fans.
