Ten Years from Now - Personal Essay

I have looked at my life today and know exactly where I want to be 10 years from now. I have advanced in my career rather quickly and have been presented with opportunities that can take me to higher professional levels. I look back on where I was just five years ago and realize that with my Master’s degree, I could go that much further in my career and personal life. My time is now and I plan on taking advantage of each opportunity presented to me, so that I can continue to excel in my life.

In ten years, I will be the President of the Products division for my employer. I will also have taken my food and clothing pantry city wide and partnered with other local businesses to continue servicing the Michigan area children. Currently, I am an Operations Manager for a nationwide company and I would like to get accepted in their Development Leadership Program to start the process of becoming Vice President of our Products Division. To do that, I have to actively be in a Master’s Degree Program at an accredited University. It is my hope that I can do just that by obtaining a college scholarship for a Master’s Program with the University of Phoenix. This goal would put me on track to present some of the ideas I have to launch our business products into the future. I want to provide our customers with the most up to date and outstanding products that my employer has to offer. I have ideas that will provide veterans and college students who are interested in STEM programs jobs within our company to help us stay in front of the latest technology efforts.

Currently, I have launched a show and tell process for my team leads to be able to also present their ideas for change. This has helped them feel included and allowed us all to present our absolute best ideas to assist customers with their electronic and audio programs. I have also launched a Food and Clothing Pantry to assist low income children who need clothes or food at home. Gaining my Master’s Degree in Business Administration will give me the business background that could help me take the food and clothing pantry to the next level as well. I could then meet with places like Wal-Mart or other local stores to partner with me; to help reach even more children and families in my community. I have worked hard to provide my daughter and family a good life; show them that I am someone they can count on and look up to.
