Wits, driven, compassion, confidence- these traits, accompanied with tasteful styling, hair and makeup are the ingredients that spice up our Filipina beauty queens and dominate in every international pageant scenes.
Our country, Philippines, is a hub of beauty and brains. So it's no wonder that beauty pageants are prominently held during special events and have become our favoritepasttime. This deep love for pageants has propelled our representatives to be a consistent frontrunner for the past year and the years before.
But for Filipino pageant enthusiasts, this year 2015 will be the most notable as the year when we reigned and brought more than just a crown.
After a long 42 year drought, Philippines has finally been crowned as the 64th Miss Universe, marking it as our country's third win of the prestigious title, all thanks to the captivating PiaWurtzbach. However, Pia is not the only Filipina that (brought) honor and glory to pur land. Angelia Ong(Miss Earth), Trixie Maristella (Miss International),Cindy Madumma(Miss Scuba International 2015), Leren Mae Bautista(Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015) and Ann Colis (Miss Globe) are also proof that Philippines is a top contender and deserving for the exalted crowns.
Victory is within our hold and letting go of it is out of the question. However, we musn't forget that the title comes with a price of responsibility. The purpose of every beauty pageant is to promote a charity that is close to the competitors heart not just how good their hair and make-up looks, so just sitting pretty and drooling over the crown will only render your title useless and merely just a prop. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
