Difference between American Pop Music and Korean K Pop
Introduction
Music is a thing which everyone is aware and loves. Music helps people to get relax and is a form of entertainment. Sometimes, before one can feel anything concerning music, he/he needs to determine the kind of genre which fits him/her well. It could be a personal favorite or idle music. K-Pop is an abbreviation of Korean pop. It means that it is the music of South Korea (Shin, 2009). Whenever individuals hear about Korean pop and its idols, they may end with some queries on the difference between the American pop and K-Pop. The difference between the two is mainly what is popular in that country, what they point out in their videos and the fans service.
Analysis
In America, the stars are not such big on fanservice. They will go out to address their fans and do autograph signings, perform concerts and finally make albums. But what it can be found out is that the American pop does not do much with an aim to please their fans. It means a great deal in Korea. The stars of K-pop have their fan clubs, for instance, petals ELF, Siwonests, and Angels. The entire shows in Korea are dedicated to the fans service. All the stars will emerge and perform things which the fans were intending (Shin, 2009). For instance, the fans do want to see their favorite idols response to a scary rollercoaster or they may want to see their reaction in a haunted house. The idols will then go out to try to please their fans and captured on camera while performing the very deeds and air them on the network of the fan service. The K-Pop also has the knack for pairing up their favorite idols altogether as couples. The managers of the idols will take the videos of the very idols and talk in an aim to make them feel happy. The service of the fans contributes to have more fans and also to promote themselves in the acting and music industry. Another significant distinction between the American pop and K-Pop is genuinely what the idols are singing in music videos. With K-Pop and American music, there is no point where it can be said that K-Pop is vulgar and does not have any deep meaning. The pop of America focuses on the unimpressive aspects of life, going to clubs, and the overuse of content of the sex and drinking. It is like when lady Gaga says “let us have some fun, this beat is sick, I want to take a ride on your disco stick”. The pop music videos can make much sense whenever it shows much of sexual content.
