Kambas ng Lipunan, a documentary made by a painter, Joey Velasco. In the documentary he created a painting of The Last Supper, but instead of painting the 12 Apostles he changed them to street children.  At first it was just a mere painting for him, a canvas with mixture of paints, lines and shapes, he can’t find the meaning of his own artwork. But later on, he can’t stand to look at his own painting of The Last Supper because those eyes of those children stare at him. His painting pierces him.

In his everyday life he sees those street children in his painting, he sees them but he ignored them. He didn’t realize how those street children handle the cruelty of life. He thought that it’s nothing for them to be poor because they’re already used to it. Just like in his work, he can’t find the importance of his every painting anymore because he’s already used to his work. But he realize that it’s not those street children who’s already used of poverty, he is the one who is used to their poverty. Because of his realization, he visited all those children in his painting; Nene, Joyce, Tinay, Itok, Emong, Onse, Buknoy, Michael, Dodoy, Jun, Roselle and Sudan. With their dirty attire and difficulty shown in their eyes, they still try to stay strong, they show attitude of faith. In every meeting with those children, he was able to learn something from them. He also was able to realize that despite of social status everyone has its own purpose importance because it was God who created us. He was able to learn the importance of one’s existence, which is helping and understanding one another.
