Eastern, Postcolonial, and Feminism
The Eastern philosophy, Postcolonial philosophy, and Feminist movements each consist of beliefs that are widely present throughout the world in today’s society. Each of these philosophies contains many schools of thought and key issues that and many contributing philosophers.
Definitions and Principal Issues
According to the philosophy matrix answer key, Eastern philosophy consists of Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, and Hinduism philosophical practices. Postcolonial philosophy studies the disciplinary philosophy used in the indigenous cultures of the Africa, the Americas, and Asia. According to the text, postcolonial philosophy addresses social inequalities from the past regarding race and gender issues to find modern day solutions. Feminism studies beliefs that have been reconstructed to primarily focus on women and the issues pertaining solely to women (University of Phoenix 2012, Week Five Philosophy Matrix Answer Key).
Eastern philosophy questions the unification between body and mind, the harmonious relationship between people and the environment, and the reality of people becoming fully awakened to the truth. Postcolonial philosophy questions the true social justice of humanity, the freedom of all people worldwide, and the possibility of humans overcoming the racial barrier.
