Priorities in Charlie’s scenario.
Firstly, the incident should be reported to a senior member of staff (with experience and knowledge of correct protocol), who may then report to police as Charlie is a vulnerable teenager, regardless of the ‘24hrs missing’ procedure. The superior will also be able to assist with advice and guidance.
Calls should be made to the school for inquiries about his whereabouts and requests that a thorough check is made of the school grounds.
Review policies and procedures for the correct protocol and to ensure the right measures are being taken.[pic 1]
To ensure improvements can be implemented towards any further incidents, an action-plan could be created with the necessary information on procedures specific to the situation.
Priorities in Rosie’s scenario.
