Assignment #1 – Human Nutrition
- Participant1 was my interviewer. Please refer to attached pages for 24-hour recall and iProfile Summary.
- I did not recall any additional food though I do have a feeling that I had another snack. Unfortunately, as time goes by I have a harder time recalling what I ate +24 hours ago.
- I had around 9.06 cups of fluid which is within the usual consumption of young female adults. Though only 4 cups were tap water. In the future I will drink more fluids especially water due to the amount of activity I take part in. To ensure this I will carry a water bottle with me at all times.
- I believe this is not a usual representation of my diet. I have been ill with strep throat for the last week and have not yet settled down into a routine since the new year. I usually pack a lunch in the morning with more vegetable and fruit snacks.
- Please refer to attached pages for Macronutrient Distribution.

For the graphs the mid value percentage of each AMDR was used. All of the actual intakes for the macronutrients were within the recommend dietary intake. The acceptable macronutrient distribution range for fat is 20-35%, Carbohydrate is 45-65% and Protein is 10-35%. Looking at the actual values in the graph above all of the macronutrients are below their highest allowable percentage. Fat is 28.8%, Carbohydrates is 61.8% and Protein is 12.5%. From this we can say that more protein and less carbohydrate should be consumed in the diet to maintain a healthy diet.

Reviewing each single nutrient on iProfile I have had 100% of my daily value of each fat. As shown in the graph saturated fat is the highest. This is due to the cream cheese at breakfast (24%-Saturated) and the cheesecake at dinner (30%- Saturated). The cheesecake was a special dessert and not usually apart of my daily diet. The total trans fat is low which is good. For the monounsaturated the cream cheese was 37% and the bell pepper was 36%. Most of the polyunsaturated fat came from the bell pepper (85%- polyunsaturated). To increase my monounsaturated and polyunsaturated levels I should eat more vegetables, nuts, avocados, whole grain and fatty fish.
