Pollution became a major concern for governments all over the world. The main cause of pollution is that we use non-renewable resources such as coal, oil, gas, petrol etc. as the main sources of energy.

The world is developing rapidly, skyscrapers are constructed daily in all parts of the world, industries are growing, cars are increasing, airplanes are covering the sky. All these emit a lot of poisonous gasses that destroy our environment, which makes it extremely vital to find an alternative for using non-environmental friendly energy sources.

Some definitions that maybe useful in understanding the discussed topic are; renewable resources are energy sources that quickly replenish themselves and can be used again and again, non renewable resources are energy sources that we use and consume faster than the nature produces them (Johnson 2000).

For the above-mentioned reasons, the purpose of this paper is to find out the answer to the question “how can we use renewable resources to protect the environment?”

This paper has been divided into three parts. The first part is written to create some background information about the topic it contains some definitions as well. Then part two concentrates on the literature review and what different authors wrote about the topic. Finally part three shows some recommendation to help protect the environment.
