Communication barriers in my working place
It should be noted that the questionnaire has helped me to catch accurately barriers in my working pace and analyze them.
There are some barriers at my work place. The most common barriers are presentation of information and individual linguistic ability. Sometimes my colleagues and I use difficult or inappropriate words when we have conversation with our guests. In some cases, we do it on purpose to distract attention, change the subject or flatly hoodwink. In time to time, our guests embroil us because of diverse reasons. They can be embarrassed of talk, try to avoid certain conversation or deceive us. Frequently, guest cannot put ideas in right words then I have to guess what he means and provide him with correct options.
Lack of competence or confidence is the earnest barrier in my working place. Since I work with people and all of them are sundry, I have to be prepared for all possible and impossible questions. So competence means including not only knowledge of service of the hotel, recommendations of the city's places, pieces of advice for travelers or paperwork, but being able gently to keep the conversation about, for instance, politic, culture, art, religion, history.
Occasionally, attitudinal barriers come up. At my work I permanently deal with poor management and lack of motivation. Repeatedly, general manager do not share latest information and instructions with administrators so it leads to misunderstanding and mistakes. Also such situations influence on personal attitudes of individual employees and dissatisfaction at work because you have to take the rap for something you do not have notion for.
To summarize, I opine that revelation and analysis of the barriers are beneficial activity for improving the results of work.
