Comparison of Ocean Park and Everland
Introduction
There are lots of attractions and destinations around the world. Take Hong Kong as an example, there are already more than 50 attractions in this international city, such as Avenue of Stars, Disneyland and Ocean Park. With such tense competition, it is necessary to outstand and have the ability to attract potential customers to current customer and transfer current customer to loyalty customer. In order to have a better understanding of the factors affecting the success and failure of a destination, comparison external and internal factors of Hong Kong Ocean Park and Seoul Everland would be discussed in below.

1) Unique attraction
Everland is a unique attraction in Korea because it is a theme park that combined new technology, animals, fantasy world and exciting rides. People could enjoy the wonderland with their children, family and friends.

According to the above map, it shows that the park was divided into different zones, such as Global Fair, American Adventure, Zoo-Topia, European Adventure and Magic Land. With such diversified attractions, Everland could attract visitors to seek for adventure and unforgettable experiences.

Ocean Park is also a unique attraction because it combined educational and entertainment purpose. It provided a favorable environment and facilities for people seeking the adventure. Ocean Park comprises two main attraction areas: the Waterfront and the Summit, subdivided into eight attraction zones: Amazing Asian Animals, Aqua City, Whiskers Harbour, Marine World, Polar Adventure, Adventure Land, Thrill Mountain and the Rainforest.
2) Brand name and cartoon character.
Everland has nearly 20 cartoon characters and they were displayed in the different places within the park. For example main gate gift shop, cinemas and information centers.

Though cartoon characters could encourage children’s imagination of the park, there were too many characters that people could not remember.
In contrast, Ocean Park has only 10 cartoon characters and was displayed in the front gate, information center and some adventure facilities. Since the number of characters is less than that of Everland, people could remember them easily.

3) Innovation
Everland included lots of innovative technologies in the park. For example the animals riding, petting zoo, parrot garden, dark forest, safari world, lost valley and so on. The most innovative attraction is the Lost Valley. Unlike other zoo that required people to walk and visit other animals, Everland offered the world’s first specialized convertible amphibian vehicle for visitors and move from water to land. It is a creative way to allow visitors interact closely with the approximately 150 unique animal species.
