Men Women

Desire Awareness that he wants or wishes to attain pleasurable sexual activity. Awareness that she wants or wishes to attain pleasurable sexual activity. Both experience awareness that want or wish to do a sex activities. Man’s have a higher level of sexual desire. For women sexual desire is motivated less by biological urges then it is by relationship and intimacy needs.

Excitement/Arousal -Vasocongestion response

-erection of the penis

-increase in heart rate and blood pressure,

- scrotum thickens

-testicle elevate toward the body

-nipple erections occur in some men -vaginal lubrication from vasocongestion

-labia engorges and vaginal walls balloon

- cervix and uterus pull upward

-clitoris engorges

-nipples react The first sign of sexual arousal is vasocongestive response. Women may not be aware of vasocongestive response until a several munities. For many women subjective arousal is very poorly correlated with genital measure of physiological arousal and women sexual arousal commonly precedes sexual desire.

Plateau -high sexual arousal

-penis and testicles become larger

-Cower’s glands secrete clear fluid

- 25 percent of the men experience sex tension flush -outer vaginal tissues engorges with blood and swell – orgasmic platform

-outer vagina narrows

-sex flash of skin

-clitoris pulls back beneath clitoral hood

-secretion of vaginal lubrication slows. Both experience high arousal. Women might have sex flash of the skin as man can experience sex tension flash. Men penis and testicles become larger as women outer vagina narrow and clitoris pulls back.

Orgasm -ejaculation usually occurs with orgasm

-sperms and fluid forced into ejaculatory duct – emission stage

- contraction of urethra and at the base of the penis force semen out the urethra opening – expulsion stage -rhythmic contractions of specific
