Speculation:

Does Issei Sagawa’s sexual desire lead him to be a cannibal?

Critical Analysis:

• Sagawa had harbored his perverted urges from childhood, where he learned about cannibalism from a fairy tale. As he became aware of his urge to consume human flesh.

• When he entered junior high school he became obsessed with the Western actress Grace Kelly---- an obsession that lasted right through high school.

• His sexual desire arouses when he saw a beautiful blonde German woman in Tokyo. He sneaked to her apartment. He knocked her out and gets a knife to cut her ass to eat it.

• He doesn’t eat someone because he was hungry. He said that it’s different from the type of hunger that people experience food. His cannibalistic urge where he wants to eat a human meat is a sort of sexual appetite. If he didn’t ejaculate frequently enough, the desire only gets stronger and stronger.

• After he went to Paris, his cannibalistic urges showed no signs of slowing down. Almost every night he would bring a prostitute home and try to shoot them from behind while they washed their vaginas at the bidet.
