Module Capstone Cases
This assignment has both an individual and learning group component. Your two page case analysis is due before class on the day we will be covering your case. Your group will submit a written explanation of group consensus at the end of class. If you would like to discuss the case or have any questions before class, please feel free to come meet with the teaching team during office hours.
Include your name, team name, the title of the assignment, the date, and page numbers. It should also be written in 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins. Any references (e.g. a bibliographic list of sources) citations (e.g. identifying in the text of your paper the source of an idea other than your own), footnotes and endnotes should follow American Psychological Association (APA) formatting rules (http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/ resource/560/01/).

- A Problem Statement
- Present a problem statement which succinctly answers the following questions: What is the main issue or problem being faced? Who is involved? What were the key themes (use concepts from class, i.e. teamwork, communication, etc.)?
- Pertinent Information Defining the Problem
- Pertinent information should explain how the problem came about and what the key issues and decision points are for your main character(s), specifically referring to what they should consider when making these decisions.
- Objectives for Solving the Problem
- The objectives should be explained by answering what goals should the main character(s) achieve, make sure to explain if these goals are sensible, reasonable, and/or likely to fix the issue.
- Possible Solutions
- Propose 2-4 clear solutions to the main issue or problem, make a strong case for each solution with support from the case & other class materials.
- Summary Matrix
- Include a matrix that visually presents a summary of your text; the problem statement, objectives, and proposed solutions should all be included.
- Suggested Solution
- Make an argument for your strongest solution. Describe how the solution would be implemented and both positive and negative consequences of the solution.
Group Decision (1/2 page)
Each learning group will email their group decision paper to the teaching team by the end of class. This half-page paper should clearly state the main issue in one sentence and then explain the group’s proposed solution to the problem. Additionally, the paper should explain how the group came to this solution. The group will receive the same grade on this portion of the assignment.
