Strategic Plan Part I: Personal Assistant Services Inc

“Strategic planning stresses the importance of making decisions that will ensure the organization’s ability to successfully respond to changes in the environment” (Blatstein, 2012, p. 32). Part 1 of the strategic plan for Personal Assistant Services Inc. will define the services to be provided by developing the mission statement, create a vision of what the organization will be, define the values of the organization, and determine a strategic direction. While addressing these points the customers needs will be taken into consideration and also how the organization will achieve competitive advantage (University of Phoenix, 2009).

Mission Statement

“A mission statement tells two things about a company: who it is and what it does” (Williams, 2008, p. 96). Personal Assistant Services Inc., is a nonprofit organization whose mission it is to assist disabled individuals in a professional environment. Services provided may include task-related assistance, reassignment of non-essential duties to coworkers, and personal care assitance at work (Misra, Orslene, & Walls, 2010, p. 22). It is also PAS Inc.’s, mission to educate companies on the benefits of hiring disabled individuals.

Vision Statement

According to Akpoyomare Oghojafor, Olayemi, and Okonji (2011), there are different definitions of the vision or vision statement of a business. Vision statements can include a realistic, credible, and attractive future of an organization; a picture or view of the future, something not yet real but imaging; also tend to be quite broad and can be described as a goal that represents an inspiring over arching and emotionally driven situation. Statements tend to be enduring and seldom change over time (p. 1072).

PAS Inc. is committed to creating an atmosphere in the workplace that allows disabled individuals to thrive and be productive. PAS Inc. will accomplish their goals through the commitment of the members who will be paired with the employees based on their needs and the needs of the business. PAS Inc., is also committed to educating companies, human resources departments, and other nonprofit groups on the benefits of hiring disabled employees.

Core Values

According to BusinessDictionary.com (2012), “A principle that guides an organization's internal conduct as well as its relationship with the external world. Core values are usually summarized in the mission statement or in a statement of core values” (Core Values). PAS Inc.’s core values are included in the strategic plan to provide the public and the potential clients with information that guides the organization.
