Sociology is the study of the society as a whole. There are many different aspects of sociology but a few of the big ones are: human groups and influence on individuals, social order, and social cause.
There are also different kinds of human groups such as culture, religion, communities, etc. that could change the way someone thinks. Also other people could have an influence on you, making you change your mind. For example, if you go to a bar and there is a group of fans routing for the packers and your the only one who loves the vikings in the bar and are routing for them. You might be influenced to route for the packers because everyone else is and you don’t want to go against them, because things could get rowdy.
social order is another big part about sociology because it shows the unwritten rule of how humans behave in a society. A good example for social order is when I had roommates everyone would respect everyones belongings in there rooms. If they needed to borrow something they would always ask before just taking it
Social cause is anything a human chooses to support because that is what they believe is their social responsibility. It is when someone chooses to do something without expecting anything in return. A few examples of social cause would be doing volunteer work, helping the elderly, picking up a piece of trash that you found on the ground and throwing it away in the trash can.
Sociology plays an important role in todays society. With out it we would not know how different groups interact with others, or why they choose to do things the way they do them.
