Alcohol recovers lots of manifold risks. Not only the fact to consume alcohol could be harmful but also to be surrounded by people who consumes alcohol. The most frequently consequence is the rising aggressiveness especially in groups of young people. This aggressiveness in combination with ennui often ends up in picking a fight. These fights can even lead in the worst case to death because alcohol makes people forget the limits. In these case students can be the offenders but also the victims. Another big issue is in my opinion the drunken drivers. There are many accidents caused by drunken drivers and often students are concerned. They kill not only the people in their own car but also the people in the car they smashed.
Excessive drinking be considered as dangerous as illegal drugs. It leads to independence and the lost of reality. If someone has become a real alcoholic it destroys his life and his perspectives in nearly the same way as drugs do. I thing the difference is the hidden dangers in drinking alcohol. When you take drugs you know that you do something forbidden and harmful, but alcohol is for most of the people not classified as such harmful and the concerning people didn’t realize when they infringe the line between just having fun and becoming a real alcoholic.
In my opinion it is very difficult to stop the abuse of alcohol but I don’t think that this problem could be solved by laws. The illegality of alcohol would make it even more interesting for young people.
