Managing Stress
Stress can be the cause of your untimely death. The stressors of life can cause an unhealthy lifestyle. According to Kirk (2011), "The primary difference between occupational stress and any other form of stress is the nature of the stressors and their interaction with the overall stress process" (Kirk, 2011). Occupational stressors can come from dealing with supervisors or co-workers, constant changes in policy, and bureaucratic red tape. If your organization is constant changing without any planning, individuals can become stressed out trying to adapt to the change. One way to alleviate stress would be to incorporate coping strategies. "Coping strategies are proactive behaviors adopted by individuals to deal with strain when they are confronted with environmental pressure or perceived threat from stressors" (Kirk, 2011). These strategies involve things like time management, social support, delegation or logic.
Managing my stress is not a difficult task. I management my stress by doing the following:
1. Discuss problems with friends or family members.
2. Sport and other outdoor activities.
3. Meditation.
4. Discuss problems in staff meetings.
5. Thinking toward an optimistic way.
6. Leaving the stressful conditions with a vacation.
Managing your stress can be the key to a healthy life. Individuals can become ill from various diseases that come from stress. You can't allow others to end your life due to them causing stress in your life. Learn how to confront your stressors and deal with them on a case by case basis. All stressors shouldn't
