GLOBEL SERVICE OF MOBILE COMMUNICATION (GSM)
Out of many telecommunication services in the world, GSM is one and most popular user friendly service for communication. Global Service of Mobile communication is the meaning of GSM. It is a wireless service to customer. But a big and complicated Network is involved for providing GSM service.

It is a piece of equipment that facilitates wireless communication between user equipment or in other words a mobile station and a telecommunication network. User equipment (UE) are device in such a way that we use to enjoy wireless telecommunication services like mobile phones, WLL phones etc. The Mobile Station i.e end user customer is made up of the Mobile Equipment (ME) and the subscriber identity module (SIM) . The SIM card and phone (ME) both have internationally unique identification numbers.
Mobile Equipment (ME) :
Different size, colour and model mobile sets are available in market manufactured by
different Manufacturing company. Each mobile set is having unique IMEI number ( International Mobile Equipment Identity) . Some Mobile set is available in the market without IMEI number which is not allowed to use. While purchasing a mobile set one should see that the set should have an IMEI number. To get a Mobile connection one SIM ( Subscriber Identity Module) is required. The number of the SIM card is called the IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity)
