Introduction
It can be said that the success of an organization is dependent upon the strategy that the organization has employed. Many have studied the effects of having a defined strategy in an organization and how it relates to the success of the company. For a company to keep employee morale high and to remain in competition in the business world, managers and leaders are required to examine the organizational strategy that exists within the company.
Essentially the Technology and Internet functions of the company allows for increased free time and energy for the managers to do what only human beings can do: manage people. The generic strategy that Kudler seems to be employing is one of forecasting and assessing their external environments. Forecasting is the process in which the firm attempts to predict what is likely to happen in the future, the intensity of the anticipated event, its importance to the firm, and the pace or time frame in which it may occur (Gomez-Mejia, p. 26).
All these technological changes, both internal and external, may have a wider transformational effect upon Kudler. One of the important factors is to make sure that the technology is used as a tool rather than an end in itself. Kudler needs to maintain its image as an environmentally friendly, "green" type of company that uses organically produced foods. One should consider another once "small" company that has risen to world dominance while managing to maintain its "small company" type of image.
Kudler's Intranet site is very specific in regards to its presentation of the Human Resource department. They provide information on "job classifications", "job descriptions", "Policies and Procedures", "HRIS", "EEOC" and "OSHA". Obviously, there are many aspects to the Human Resource department's duties, however perhaps the most important and obvious is with the handling of its employees. By saying the "handling of its employees", I am referring to the process of recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and opportunity. In addition, this is an area that provides the necessary information in order to be compared to other companies in the same industry.
Unlike other companies in the industry, Kudler does not offer employment information via its Internet site, but chooses to utilize external services for its recruitment purposes. Since Kudler does not provide this information on its Internet site, they are preventing potential
