Dear Ann,
Your viewers and readers as well will appreciate our short documentary on recent events and issues concerning Ebola virus that has dominated international newsrooms and has attracted the attention of the globe as it constitutes a rather serious problem. By the time we were sending our two most dedicated nurses and one photographer to West Africa, many citizens of this great nation were rather skeptical on the move. In most cases, a preventative measure is better than cure afterwards, and without proper information, we are unable to know the causative factors of this deadly virus. For this noble reason, it is our joy to announce that our nurses are out of danger.
The New Zealand Red Cross organization would, therefore, wish to share with the nation on the things our two nurses covered in Liberia during their investigatory trip. As an organization, we offer aid to already affected areas of disaster and educate the nation at large on disaster preparedness and emergency. Our two nurses, Donna, and her counterpart Sharon, embarked on their novice mission as Red Cross aid team. In the company of other Red Cross nurses from different sections of the globe, the pair gave their immense support to the Kenema government hospital. The heart-breaking experiences and the incredible survival stories of how Sierra Leone is coping up with Ebola crisis takes the center stage of the Red Cross’ aim in requesting for your coverage. The documentary and testimonies from The New Zealand Red Cross organization crew will educate the public more on Ebola and Marburg virus. More so, the public will be informed and trained on the way how to be vigilant with travelers coming from West Africa and other nations that have been affected by Ebola. The documentary will thus benefit the public in many ways.
