Learning Styles Paper
Learning styles are dynamic categories which examines the way that an individual learns & processes information best. After taking the Baker College learning style questionnaire, it was determined that I am an Auditory and Visual learner. As an auditory learner, I learn through the use of my ears and with various audio elements. For example, I like to listen to music while I study. For me, it helps keep the momentum and positive energy flowing. If it is completely quiet, I find that I am not as productive and my work suffers. As a visual learner, I find that I also learn best through the constant use of my eyes. From what I see, my mind can easily interpret and understand the meaning more completely. I am able to self-interpret what I am seeing and that allows me to develop a sense of ownership with what I am learning. For example, I would rather dissect a detailed chart or graph rather than read paragraphs about the information at hand. By understand the chart or graph, it allow me to fully grasp the meaning more clearly and cohesively.
In preparation for the Seminar 2 Quiz, I would use various audio and visual methods to allow me to grasp the information more completely and properly prepare myself. For example, I would print out the Frequently Asked Questions & the Baker College Computer Acceptable Use Policy under the Solar System. Additionally, under the Star system I would print out information regarding the Academic Office, Bookstore, Business Office, Career Services & the Financial Aid Office.
By printing off all of the previously mentioned information, it would aid my visual learning style by allowing me the opportunity to study all the information with hard copies in my hand.
