What are the most common physical effects of work-related stresses among graveyard shift call center agents?

The results showed that the top 3 most common physical effects of work related stress are as follows: Inability to get enough sleep, frequent urination, back pain and eye strain.

According to Gosling, 2014. There are factors that increase sleep disturbance such as rarely taking time to relax due to environmental factors such as noise and daylight.. Also, there is also impaired circadian rhythm due malfunction in the "internal body clock" and the external environment regarding the time and duration of sleep.

There is frequent urination and back pain due to prolonged siting and short breaks and lastly there is eyestrain due to prolonged working hours in front of the computer.

What are the most common psychosocial effects of work-related stress among graveyard shift call center agents?

The results showed that the top 3 most common psychosocial effects of work related stresses are as follows: Irritability, mood swings and anger.

According to Epstein (2008), sleep deprivation results to being irritable, short-tempered, and vulnerable to stress when a person lacks sleep. This is due to impaired circadian rhythm of the graveyard shift call center agents due to the malfunction of the internal body clock of the graveyard shift call center agents.

The results showed that there are similarities to the study by the  Lin (2009). however, depression is the most common effect of psychosocial stress in their workplace. The researchers considered the factors on why there is a difference on the results. it is due to the different geographical location, culture and time they conducted the study.

The researchers considered on why mood swings and anger were part of the most common psychosocial effects of work-related stress, it is also due to sleep disturbance and to the impaired circadian rhythm of the graveyard shift call center agents.
