Personal Reflection Journal

This is my last reflective report for the final year project, Capstone 2 and now it comes to the end of the semester. It takes us about twelve weeks to complete all the tasks. There are some good and bad experiences that we all had gone through. However, I would like to thank my team members who contribute extraordinary performance for the project who are Charlie, Gabriel and Vivi. In this project, I may not be the best team member but I am really glad and appreciate working with them in this semester.

Recalled back to my memories, I feel that this project is mission impossible for me due to lack of experience and limited social knowledge. I am quiet person and I am very poor to speak out my opinion. I always feel apologetic to work with my team members. Throughout these twelve weeks, I learnt to collaborate with my team members to complete our task together. First of all, I am easy panic but now I feel happier to work with them. They are so friendly and helpful. We all helped each other with our own skills as we come from different major of studies. Charlie and Vivi are taking major in international business, Gabriel is taking major in accounting and finance, and I am taking major in accounting. My team member, Gabriel helped me a lot in the presentation skill, and Charlie gives me a full support and confidence in the presentation.  I really feel glad that I can work as a team with them. Other than that, I am not quiet during discussion anymore. And now, I am able to speak out my ideas and discuss with my team members.

For our project, we are working on Sarawak Convention Bureau which was a non-profit organization. Their mission is to create a thriving and sustainable meetings industry in Sarawak. They provide professional advice to meeting planners. They are an impartial and unbiased source between planners and local industry suppliers. Their goal is to help connect NGOs, corporations and government bodies with whatever is necessary to make international conventions a success in Sarawak. Our team works on the general awareness and corporate social responsibility. For general awareness, we are requiring to think of the ways to help Sarawak Convention Bureau to improve people’s awareness toward its existence. For corporation social responsibility, we are giving some suggestion to provide funding and resources for worthwhile social causes, such as donating money to charities, or putting together a real plan to produce products that are in the best interests of the society.

For our team, it is so hard to meet up as we have different timetable and we are taking different courses. A small conflict might occur sometimes due to different viewpoint during the discussion section. We will respect each other’s ideas and discuss and vote for the best. Sometimes, we also have conflict about the works that we cannot done before due date. But our leader, Charlie forgave us and gave us more time to done our works. He always led our team to do the best.  Throughout this team work, we learnt to collaborate with each other and accept other opinion. As a member of the team, I learnt to assist team members and support their idea in various ways. Besides, I will have to be more active in team to improve our team effectiveness.
