Bill Meets Dieter

One morning, Bill meets Dieter for a coffee. During their conversation, Bill discovers that Dieter has a guitar that he is looking to sell. Bill, who has been looking for a guitar for his nephew, Samuel, for some time, makes Dieter an offer of $60 for the guitar. Dieter informs Bill that he will have to let him know as really he was looking for a bit more money. As Bill walked home from the coffee shop he passed ‘Tra La La', a local music shop, and he noticed a second hand guitar for sale in the window for $45. Bill thought this was a great offer so he went into the shop to purchase the guitar. When he got to the counter he was informed by Keith, the shop owner, that actually the guitar was $50 and not $45. Bill was not very happy about this and tried to argue the price, but Keith refused to sell it for any less than $50. Bill decided he would leave the guitar for now as he was not very happy about the conflicting price. The following day, after Dieter had considered Bill's offer he decided to send a letter to Bill accepting the offer of $60, however, on that same day Bill had gone back to ‘Tra La La' and decided that £50 was still good value for the guitar in the shop and so decided to purchase it. A couple of days later, Bill received the letter from Dieter and called him to inform him that he no longer needed the guitar as he had bought one from ‘Tra La La'.
