Employee Motivation
Some time in your life you will be motivated to do something that you really want to do. The reason for this is that motivation will help you focus on your dream. If you really want to do something in your life you try to see it in your dreams.
I have been motivated and demotivated in my career time. In this paper I will be discussing both of the situations. I will be starting with my motivational situation. Some time ago I worked as a case manager. I liked working as a case manager, and I found that doing my work on the computer was what I really liked to do. This company wanted everything in nice and neat order. I decided that I would do a spreadsheet on all the accounts that we had. What I did not know is that it was going to make are work so much easier. My supervisor saw what I did, and she asked me if I would keep on doing this, and they would pay me $150 dollars more a week. After looking back I believe that this is how, I started to love working on the computer. I think that money was not the only thing that motivated me. The motivation theories that I think she used is the drive theory. She knows what would drive me to do more of the spreadsheets. It was having someone that really liked what I was doing. The motivational techniques that I think that she used are to have other people hold me accountable. This is what made me keep on doing the spreadsheets.
Next is the demotivated situation. I was working for this company as a secretary assistant. In this job I had to put together the cases for the managers and make their appointments. One day my supervisor told me that I was not typing fast enough, and she told me that I will have to take a typing class. I never took that typing class and about a four months later I quite that job. The reason on why I never took the typing class is the way she spoke to me.
