Introduction
This paper will not concern any particular organization; rather, it will focus on a Leadership and Organization subject. Since this paper will be subject related, no formal organization, or my role within it will be analyzed save to say that I am in a management position, given the task of researching and measuring impacts of this subject on the organization. I will be discussing the issue of performance and how best to support performance with adequate benefit to the employee. I will be exploring best practices concerning this issue as the focus to this paper.
Problem Statement
How does an organization keep their employees motivated to continue their dedication to the work they perform? How does the organization define the value of the employee to the organization through the use of reward systems? The organization (corporate leadership and management level employees), the ownership, and the individual employees all have a stake in matching rewards to efforts to ensure the organization is functioning at a high level, with satisfactory benefits for all. Getting theses stakeholders' to arrive at a successfully negotiated settlement where all are happy and satisfied is the case at hand. The very cohesiveness of the organization is at stake when all parties do not agree on a fair and equitable compensation schedule. This problem does not simply concern how much each employee is paid, this problem concerns the full package of salary, benefits, perks, recognition, and rewards.
