Angel Africa is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build the largest network of business and professional leaders dedicated to promoting economic growth in Africa by leveraging our collective talent to encourage entrepreneurship and private sector development and initiatives.

A group of African professionals who work across multiple sectors, industries and geographies; network with various professionals and leaders who are passionate about Africa; want to develop an in-depth knowledge of the issues that impact Africa; and create initiatives and programs to demonstrate the importance of the private sector for improving living conditions on the continent.

To create a platform within our network to encourage and assist entrepreneurs and small & mid-size enterprises (SMEs) in Africa. This platform is important because we know that a thriving economy is dependent on a collection of profitable private businesses that create jobs, provide necessary goods and services and accelerate sustainable economic development.

Job Description for Co-chair for Network Social and Learning Events

The two chairs of the Network Social and Learning Events committee will be responsible for making sure that the following activities occur:

Speakers’ Series – 3 to 4 times per year

This series’ goal is to expose our network participants to the world of economic development and entrepreneurship on the continent of Africa. Members of this committee will be expected to recruit thought leaders in the field of economics, investment, entrepreneurship, management and leadership to speak to the AngelAfrica network and facilitate discussion about best practices. Past speakers’ series include Moctar Fall, former head of emerging markets at JP Morgan Chase and Dr. Aidan Eyakuze.

Networking Socials (Happy Hours) – 8 to 10 times

One of the most enjoyable aspect of being a network participant is getting together at a local (preferably African-owned or themed or inspired) spot and meeting new people. This event has become a signature event for AngelAfrica.

Anniversary celebration – once per year

For the past four year, we have celebrated our anniversary with an awards ceremony. This is an opportunity to showcase the accomplishments of AngelAfrica and recognize the achievements of African entrepreneurs and the dedication of the network participants.
