Kempinski Hotels is Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group founded in Germany in 1897 (Kempinski Hotels S.A , 2016). Kempinski has over 75 5-star hotels in 31[1] countries, and continues to add new properties around the world. Each one is imbued with the quality guests have come to expect from Kempinski while embracing the cultural traditions of its location. Some of its top competitors include The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC, Four Seasons Holdings Inc., and Mövenpick Holding AG (Hoovers Inc., 2016). Kempinski’s main product is the service and accommodation that it provides to the customer. Every Kempinski is different from the other and no franchise is alike. Although their missions and goals are alike, the services they provide vary from country to country as each franchise/branch is well adapted into the culture of the country they operate in. Kempinski also offers a variety of family and golf packages to reduce the overall travel costs for group sport travel and leisure travel for families.
Mission Statement.
“Kempinski’s strategy is to create one of the world’s most desirable and luxurious hotel collections, where hotels are either trophy hotels or market leaders” (Kempinski, 2016). Kempinski has been successful to create a brand image that reflects its mission statement of being desirable and luxurious.
HR Strategies.
In order to enable this organization to achieve its goals and be a great place to work, Kempinski Hotels should adapt the following human resource strategies: first, it should provide its staff with adequate training; second, it should provide the current staff with development opportunities to prepare them for future jobs within the organization; and lastly, provide placements for business students and showing them that Kempinski Hotels would be an excellent employer after graduation.
