Introduction (Introduce context and film title) | Welcome to the Vibe, a show about reviewing movies that are coming to a cinema near you. Tonight’s movie I will be reviewing the a great film based on the book written by James Phelan, the title is Chasers from the Alone series. There are three different books in the alone series, Chasers, Survivor and Quarantine. There are 4 teenagers in the movie are: Jesse- Alex Russell, Anna- Phoebe Tonkin, Mini- Candice Zhao, Dave-Harrison Gilbertson, andThe director of the movie is Stuart Beattie. The type of movie is dystopian perhaps you could give a brief definition of this genre and apocalyptic. Rated as M, It is focused for targeted at young adults. The setting is New York City on Manhattan Island |
Plot overview (A brief summary of the characters and storyline without revealing too much to the audience) | Mini, Anna, Jesse and Dave are all in New York on a UN trip and they are in a subway when they suddenly hear a huge crash, but they do not know what it is until they go out onto the street and find out change this that it is a plane hitting a building. They then find themselves fending for their survival them self with everybody what about the chasers?being killed in the crash, so they go to the Rockefeller centre (30 rock), and they stay there and sleep only sleep? for multiple days. When you get to the end of the movie there is a twist no one is expecting, not even you. This plot overview could be better |
Theme(s) explored (What are the big ideas explored in this film? How are these revealed throughout?)
| The themes of Loneliness, friendship and survival are shown explored in the movie. They have been shown throughout the movie, by showing when they first have their train get crashed into, they then have to work together to survive in Manhattan, and then after they have been working together they become friends and form great friendships, but when during the movie is when they start to feel lonely. Rethink this sentence. It is too long and becomes awkward |
Actors and performances (How well did the actors portray the characters from the novel?) | The actors and actresses played the roles of the characters really well, I think the director picked the best people for the movie, as they are all in the age range of teenagers; they are all good characters for the people that they portrayed. Alex Russell: Alex played the role of Jesse comment on Jesse- who he is, his strengths and weaknesses. Has Alex been in other movies the audience would know? Has he been nominated for any awards and he played it great, he knew how to act. Phoebe Tonkin: Phoebe played the role of Anna and she has been acting for years since she was a little girl. Films? Awards? Comment on the character, Anna Candice Zhao: Candice played the role of Mini her acting is really good, she has been acting for a while she has been in multiple different films, she first hit our TVs in the TV show H20: Just Add water. Comment on Mini Harrison Gilbertson: Harrison played the role of Dave his acting is very good, he has been in multiple films such as Need for speed and Conspiracy 365. Comment on Dave |
Film elements (Sound track, special effects etc. which enhance the film ) | The special effects in the film are how they show where and when the actors are scared used to great effect. Comment on music in the film. What tracks are played? |
Audience appeal (Who would enjoy this film and why?) | The audience appeal would be for older teens and young adults, this particular audience would enjoy this because young adults and older teens like genres which explore dystopian futures. |
