Choosing a career
Choosing an occupation is one of the most important decisions you make in your life. There are a lot of things you have to think over before find the career of your dreams. Such as your interests, your skills, demanding of a job and it's salary. Also time dictates it's terms. For example technological progress made a revolution in many industries. From the one hand it simplified and accelerated production of many thinks but from the other hand a lot of people lost their workplaces. Anyway through the years some kinds of professions were liquidated. I'd like to compare things then and now.
One of the most important criterion is a prestige of any job. Like 30-40 years ago be a turner or mechanic on factory was rather respectful. Times have changed. A lot of professions where you should work with hands became undesirable and even shameful. What about creative work I think that people who are involved in this sphere made their job more rewarding. Because singers for example very well-paid comparing with past. When all the of them were such usual persons.
Another important moment when you are choosing a career is influence of your parents. Nowadays they are more broad-minded I guess so by this criterion decision became a little bit easier. Of course there are different situations in every family but over time priorities and views have been changing.
In conclusion I’d like to say that I strongly believe that choosing an occupation was and is difficult decision then and now for everyone. However, if you know persons who choose profession of their dreams I must be sure that they are happy.
