- The region my article deals with is Syria, in southwest Asia.
- - Russia wants Bashar Assad, Syria’s president to stay while the United States wants him to go.
- Mr. Kerry, secretary of state, ran created a list of agreements and disagreements between U.S and Russia regarding Syria.
- Main agreements being; a unified Syria, taking out the presence of the Islamic state or other extremists, and Syrians being able to decide their future leaders.
- There were meetings in Vienna about the conflict that involved the foreign ministers of Turkey and Saudi Arabia; Mr. Kerry and Mr. Lavrov met one another before all four sat down to talk.
- Obama administration contends that Russia has used that fight as an excuse for attacking other rebel forces fighting Assad.
- The 4 counties have agreed to come together again soon to discuss the issue.
- Conflict- A sharp disagreement relating to interests and ideas.
- In the article Russia and U.S’s conflict was how they were going to go about the war in Syria. Even though they had certain agreements pertaining Syria, they had many disagreements such as Russia thinking that U.S should play a bigger role in fighting the Islamic state in Syria, and Russia wanting Bashar Assad to stay in Syria and U.S wanting them to leave. Russia thinks that Assad is beneficial to the war and is helping Syria, while the U.S thinks that Assad is corrupt and has a negative influence to Syria and the war. Conflict is the main concept pertaining this article and the issue involved in it.
- One thing I learned from this article is that more than 200,000 people have been killed in the 4 and a half Syrian war. Another thing I learned was There are four main factions of fighting groups throughout the country: Kurdish forces, ISIS, oppositions such as Jaish al Fateh, an alliance between the Nusra Front and Ahrar-al-Sham, and Assad regime.
- There were major conflicts involving the gods (of nature) in Mesopotamia. The gods of nature were known as the enemy to the people because of the disasters in nature the gods brought to them. The gods were said to bring the conflict of irregular flooding that the Tigris and Euphrates produced. The people of Mesopotamia acted caustically, making sure not to upset the evil gods.
