Article written by Erinn Cawthon and Susan Candiotti, “Expectant parents killed in car crash on way to hospital, baby survives,” was written at 3/3/13. The accident occurred early Sunday morning, in New York; a young couple, both 21 years old, were heading to the hospital in hopes of being expectant parents when their cab was hit by another car. The driver and passenger of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and the driver of the cab was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The couple was pronounced dead at two different hospitals and the hospital of the wife preformed a C-Section in desperate hopes to save the baby. The baby is now also in critical condition and the child will be taken care by family, friends, and the community.

"It's terrible," Barry Sekete, a cousin of one of the victims, told CNN affiliate New York 1. "They're ... not even married a year, and you know they're going into the happiest times, to have a baby, and that's what happens. Terrible." “The young Orthodox Jewish couple was "preparing for the most joyous moment in life, to become parents, ready to build a castle to the future and build a family," said Isaac Abraham, a community leader and neighbor of the couple.”

The information provided in the article is very heart breaking. The couple have been married for least then a year and they had their whole life ahead of themselves. They were starting a family and it just ended in a blink of an eye. It is just unbelievable of the events that occurred. It is just a sad example of why life should not be taken for granted.
