ABSTRACT
Owning a business is one thing, however ensuring that you are gaining the most profit from your customers and have the best marketing strategies, that’s another. To run a successful company you need to have good quality products and or services, loyal customers and catchy advertisement. Once you have all these things aligned, there is one more thing that can turn your company into an even more successful company than it was today, the Internet.
FASHION GAL
Fashion gal is a local store here in Simi Valley, they sell woman’s clothing for all ages and all sizes, and they have decent prices and great quality clothing. The only thing that seems to be missing from this company is the fact that you can’t shop online. Many other clothing companies such as Tilly’s, Hollister, American Eagle, and Pac sun all have websites that make it easy for customers to browse products that are available in stores and also to purchase them. More people have become what we call online shoppers, and do a lot less of physical shopping. With Fashion gal having a website it will increase their profits tremendously for all of their customers that just don’t feel like going out of the house to shop.
STEPS OF DESIGN
When developing a website for your company there is processes that comes along with it, with each designer the process may vary but the basics are going to be similar (Bowlby, 2015). There are six main steps to this process, Information gathering, Planning, design, development, testing and delivery and maintenance (Bowlby, 2015). We have already gained the information we needed by establishing the main point of why the company needs a website and what the purpose of what the company website will be used for and the goals will be. We have also decided who our target audience will be once the website is up and running.
PLANNING
Planning is done once you have finished gathering all of your information from phase one, it is now time to put together your plan for the website. You need to figure out what third party technologies will need to be linked to your website to assist you and your customers. For a company like fashion gal that sells clothing, accessories, handbags, and shoes, it needs have the option to shop for products that are available in the store as well as products that they might want to only sell online. It should also provide customer surveys and reviews so that anyone who has not shopped in the actual store can read the reviews before purchasing products from the website. While these may not seem like hard tasks, there is a lot of work that comes with them.
