As many of us everyday use database management systems and may just not know it. It is used in our workplace and out of the workplace. Database Management Systems is used in everyday life such as when you the automated teller machine, use the computer system at the public library, make an appointment with your doctor, and inventory systems, and making a reservation with a hotel or flights. Most people do not even know how important that Database Management System's have come to us all in our everyday life. They advantages and disadvantages to them all.
I do not work at this moment, but when I did I worked in a doctor's office. As the days go by medical records will be on a computer and not on paper anymore. Everything is put in to the system so that it can be read from each doctor. The office used "Dynacrates is Clinic Management software which helps in efficient clinic management by managing Doctor's appointments, medical billing, patient's treatment history, diagnostics information and the administrative activities of a clinic or a hospital (Advance data Systems, 2007)." This is used with Microsoft office.
The program is used on the computers that are taken into the patients room at all times. The doctor will type on the computer as she talks to you about what is wrong with you. When the nurse takes the information from you they put it in the computer. This program helps to keep the patients information correct. You cannot move from one screen to another until all information is inputted. The information inputted is the correct information word for word
