Reaction Paper on "The Prince of Egypt"
The movie was an excellent re-enactment of the story of Israelite slaves in Egypt during the time of Moses. The highlights of the film for me were when the Lord performed miracles through Moses as well as the escape of the Israelites and Moses in the Red Sea. The miracles of the Lord was one of the highlights because it displayed the supernatural power of the Lord, with Him being the greater than humans even to the Pharaoh. The Lord showed to the pharaoh that he is the highest when He took away the soul of his first-born son. Because of this, the stubborn Pharaoh had no choice but to set the people of God free. The escape in the Red Sea was one of the highlight because for me, it was the geatest miracle the Lord has done for the Israelites. He created a way when there seems to be no way, dividing the sea into two creating a path for Moses and His people to pass through. God also sent down fire from heaven that blocked the way of the Egyptians who were running after the Israelites. The Lord finally end the Egyptians when the sea came back to its normal state drowning the Egyptians.
The message of the Exodus event for me is that God never fails to His promise to His people. The Lord fulfilled His promise of delivering His people to the land flowing with milk and honey to the Israelites. He heard their cry and saved them from their sufferings. God never wanted His people to be opressed, that he is why He punished the people who do such things. The events also tells me to never lose my trust in Him, and worship Him not only in the good times, but also in the bad ones.
