In today's society it could seem nearly impossible to function and survive without a cell phone. Being without a cell phone can make one feel as if one has been cut off from one's relatives and other events happening around the world and one's life. In addition, the technology is more advanced than ever before and it brings positive impact into society. Cell phones play a big role on society due to the technology advances and it has revolutionized communication, improved organization and served as entertainment.

The technology behind the cell phone was invented by a man named Martin Cooper who worked for Motorola. Many people rely heavily on the use of cell phones. Although many people criticize it as a negative impact in society, it is estimated that there are about six billion of people in the world that uses a cell phone. The recent growth of cellular telephone usage is a phenomenon that defies all the gender, racial, and age boundaries. Cell phones are more than just the latest electronic gadget on the market. They are essential parts of our business and personal lives.

One of the most important effects of cell phones on society is the ability to communicate with family, friends or business partners every minute of every day. Cell phones are the perfect way to stay connected with others in an emergency. They provide people with a sense of security. In an emergency it allows one to connect with others quickly and could save one's life. For example, if someone's car breaks down, runs out of gas, building collapse, or a terrorist attack. In addition, cell phones offer the ability to communicate with others that live in a different location. For instance, cell phones make communication easy with the use of text messaging. In addition, many people are able to communicate with their family that live in another city, state and even country by making a long-distance call or an international call.
