Getting Started
For the INFO 4 element of your A2 course you have been asked to create and document a system with and for a ‘Real Life’ client.
You should read the information in this booklet and complete the tasks to guide you through this work.
The information in the boxes will give you tips and pointers on what to do. Marks scheme information will also be included within this guide.
Before you start thinking of a project you need to create the folder structure and documentation in your own work area. Follow the tasks below to assist you with this.
Task:
- Create a folder in your ICT work area and name it INFO4.
- You should then create a new word processing document and save it in the INFO4 folder with the name Project.
- Within in your blank project document you will need to edit the header and footer areas:
- Header area – Your Name and Candidate Number
- Footer area - Page Number

- On the first page you will need to add the following information:
- Your Name
- Class Teachers Name
- INFO 4
- Your Project Title (You may not know this yet!)
- Save your document – you should also make sure that you have a backup copy of this folder on a USB, Learning Platform Area or in a separate folder within your work space.
The Report
Within INFO4 you are assessed for the quality of you written report.
In order assist you with this we strongly suggest that you compile all of your evidence within 1 report document rather than in separate documents.
The next section will help you to create an automatic contents page with in Microsoft Word 2003.
You will need to read this and then compile your contents as you complete sections in your report.
