1. Introduction to the Program
This PLC and HMI based project significantly demonstrates a first-in priority circuit. The following are the major elements that went into designing the program.
(a). There are three groups participating in the quiz game: 2 Undergraduate Students, 1 Masters Student and 2 Professors. If they want to get the chance of answering the question from the host, they must press the answer button on their table first. Other groups pressing will be invalid if any group gets the chance successfully.
(b). There are 2 answer buttons for the Undergraduate Students and Professor group and 1 answer button for the Masters Student. In order to give preferential treatment to the Undergraduate Student group their bulb would go on even if one of the switch is pressed. However, in order to limit the professor group their bulb will go only if both the buttons are pressed. For the Graduate Masters student the bulb would go on if the button is pressed.
