www.google.com For this week’s individual assignment I have interviewed two of my close friends Anna Sangmeister and Lynda Christy in regards to their contrasting attitudes towards cigarette products. As an Australian Anna has become accustom to the highly priced Tabaco market with her favourite cigarettes Marlboro gold sitting at $17.95 at most petrol stations and corner stores. In Kenya however, the government doesn’t tax the Tabaco market and the exact same product translates to around $1 Australian for a 25 pack. Although the core product is the same, the price variation has had an influence on Anna and Lynda and their consumption behaviour. Back home Lynda would happily purchase Marlboro gold for a dollar, however the significant increase of $16.95 have made an impact on her decision making when purchasing tobacco products. Now that Malboro Gold are no longer a habitual purchase, Lynda has walked me through the new decision making process she went through to satisfy her need for tobacco. In her information search she found that there are alternatives to smoking pre-rolled cigarettes that will infact provide more tobacco at a cheaper rate. Lynda has found that Champion Ruby and Drum Tabacco provide 30 grams of tobacco for around $22 dollars at service stations and aswell as the additional $3 extra for the rolling apparatus. Drum, provide a Velcro strap and a glue sheet to be able to keep all the apparatus together and keep the tobacco in the pouch. The convenience provided by the drum product was the deciding factor as Lynda picked Drum as her new Tobacco of choice and she feels that she can get 50 ciggarettes out of one pouch saving her between 10-15 dollars each time. Anna has decided that the quality of the pre-rolled cigarettes are more than satisfactory and she is willing to spend extra per week to enjoy her product more and stay loyal to Malboro
