Proposal Summary
The researchers proposed three different systems to replace the current one. The proposed system includes the company portal, manufacturing management portal, and the use of Microsoft Access. Compared to the old system used by the company which is the manual system of recording sales. Each three has their own strengths which would guarantee certain improvements within the system. The choice would depend on which of the three would suit the company or would make a significant upgrade to that of the old system. To do this, the researchers evaluated and broke down each system to determine which would be best suited for the company.
The Company portal is a created similar to the manufacturing management portal which aims to relay information from one to another, although this system directly involves the employers and the employees of the company. Every data input that the employer of employee makes would be recorded online through this portal or company website. Employees would be given personal accounts in which they would be granted access to once they log into their accounts through this company portal. The system of recording sales would be improved since access and data input would be a lot easier unlike the old manual system of recording sales. Each transaction would be recorded and can be viewed through this company portal. It also allows the user with sufficient authority to change transactions through this website when needed. Every transaction would be monitored by simply accessing through the company website. This is a more systematic approach which is more controlled and therefore improving the output of the company as a whole. Each delivery can be tracked down similar to the ones used by courier companies today. It would also increase the production and efficiency of employees since every movement is tracked down which also includes deadlines and projects assigned to the workers of the company. The only downside of this system is also actually an upside which is the requisite of an internet connection. The portal cannot be accessed without the use of the internet and this may pose some problems in the future such as if the service provider of the internet suddenly has a problem with the web connectivity of the company’s location. The upside of this is that the company may be able to view and update whenever and wherever they want as long as they have an internet connection. This accessibility of this company portal would surely be useful especially for the executives of the company who usually on business ventures. There are some risks to be considered when it comes to imparting information through the internet which is the possibility of unwanted and unnecessary access of the company portal. There might be others who may try to hack and access accounts used by higher ranking
